I am Balraj KN, a Cartoonist and Copywriter. But no one seems to believe that they have seen evidence of either. Whenever they see my copywriting, they have laughed. And whenever they have seen my cartoons, they have copy corrected. Everyone thought I had a ghost illustrator until I revealed how little I get paid for it (Don’t go by my looks, looks can be deceptive).

People think publications, like The Times of India, Deccan Herald, Mid Day, Bangalore Mirror, The Caravan and Civil Society, Society and EPD (Germany) did me a favour by publishing my cartoons, caricatures and illustrations. Then, they believe, I crossed the line by torturing ad agencies, corporates and NGOs.

I am thankful to JWT, O & M, Lowe, Contract, RK Swamy BBDO, TBWA and many others who have called me for work. But what they don’t tell me is that they call me when clients have a really tight budget. Reason why you haven’t heard of me because everyone thinks I am a nuisance around. I didn’t make much money but the editors did laugh all the way to the printing press, most of the time and ad agencies laughed amongst themselves for what they paid. While NGOs did a bit of social service by giving me some work. The only way I get to take my revenge is by offering to sketch faces. Beware!
